You are invited to join us for the first-ever Fall Poster Presentation Session/apple cider donut taste test!
A little history: last year, the Southeastern staff each brought our favorite local apple cider donuts to a fall staff meeting for a taste test. They were delicious! We wanted to do it again! But there were way too many donuts for just the 8 of us. We want to invite our members instead of keeping the donuts to ourselves. But we’ve heard from you: you can’t drop everything and come to Highland just for donuts. We’ve also heard from you that you love events like SENYCon where you can share your great ideas, network, and get some low-key practice for future presentations or do a victory lap from presentations of the past. So why not make a combo event? Hence, the first-ever apple cider donut taste test/fall poster session!
About the event: You are invited to bring a poster about your library or project and spend some time meeting and showing off your work to colleagues. If you have a poster you’d like to re-purpose or something in the works that you want to share in progress, this is the place. We will provide the space for you to set up your presentation and see the others. We will also provide the donuts, cider, apples, and probably some protein to balance it all out.
If you’re new to giving a poster presentation, we made this LibGuide dedicated to the how-to’s of great posters. We encourage first-time presenters to join us, so this is the place if you are a supervisor or manager who would like to give your staff experience. Please pass along the registration information to anyone who might be interested.
And what if you don't want to present a poster but just like donuts and learning about library projects? You’re welcome to come as a guest. We look forward to having you here at the office!
