SM – EAD and DACs is her world. Conversations started around 2008-09 to see if New York could aggregate data in a way that had been done in California.
SJM – working on a music project to make paperwork (planning programs from churches who have their music selections written down.) discoverable.
DG – Has a bunch of pdfs from scanned documents and needs to know where to go next.
SM – EAD keeps things in context.
Social tagging – sort of the bane of cataloger’s perfection. The National Archives has it implemented in a large-scale way.
LM - Is metadata a way to get more local history into the local library?
Fulton newspapers – millions of pages that are completely unsustainable.
AS - Vassar diaries, many written in cursive. Librarians are writing descriptions and subject headings.
